AI is about to change everything, Google has focused on AI for almost everything I/O 2023 keynote, and Microsoft did the same at Build it.
Microsoft has a bit of a leg up, however, it has been working on near OpenAI creating a variety of artificial intelligence tools to help improve our lives. The company is now integrating AI into its search engine, Edge browser, Microsoft 365 and Windows 11 as well.

In 2019, Microsoft started with billions of dollars in OpenAI. We’re just starting to see OpenAI do some interesting things like an amazing image processing tool FROM-E 2 they are popular now ChatGPT.
The latter of the two is a smart AI-powered tool that can have human-like conversations, answer questions, give suggestions and help you with all kinds of different tasks. It is an artificial intelligence that has been trained on a large language model and a large multimodal model. This means that it was trained in big data and human interaction, but did not have access to Internet research.
Things are moving fast but OpenAI is constantly working on improving its tools. Starting ChatGPT 4 appeared AI has been making waves in doing all kinds of things including writing articles, coding, providing business ideas and more. Although pass the bar exam.
In February 2023, Microsoft revealed that it was using ChatGPT to power”The new Bing” integrating next-generation artificial intelligence into Bing search.
With the power of AI, Bing is now more than a search engine as it is a communication tool and what Microsoft calls “AI copilot for the web”. With these new tools, Bing is set to “provide better search, comprehensive solutions, new insights and the ability to create content.”
Bing doesn’t just give you search results but useful and detailed answers to your queries.

Bing AI in Microsoft Edge
In March 2023 Microsoft began integrating its AI-powered Bing search engine into the Microsoft Edge. The company started rolling out native browsers with a Bing AI chatbot built into the sidebar as standard.
Called “Edge Copilot”, “Bing chat” and “Discover” this tool now sees you being able to find answers directly from your browser with the power of your AI assistant.
Microsoft says that Edge Copilot can do things like summarize web content, search for web solutions, and create content for you.
Microsoft notes that Bing AI isn’t perfect (yet) and won’t always be 100 percent accurate:
“Bing wants to base all its answers on reliable sources, but AI can make mistakes, and the content on the Internet may not always be accurate or reliable. Bing sometimes confuses what it finds, and you may see answers that make sense. satisfactory but not complete, wrong or inappropriate. Use use your own judgment and double-check facts before making decisions or taking action based on Bing’s answers.”
What is Microsoft 365 Copilot?
Microsoft is not stopping at Bing and Edge and AI, it is also incorporating intelligence into Microsoft 365 also.
Known as “Helper“This is a tool that helps people create documents, read and summarize emails, create presentations and more.
Think of it as a smarter (and more useful) version of Clippy for Microsoft Office.
Copilot can be used in the Microsoft Office suite. They will be there to help you Microsoft Teams, Outlook, Powerpoint and Word. So if you need help managing a PivotTable in Excel or staying on top of your inbox, Copilot will be there to help.
Microsoft has demonstrated some of Copilot’s powerful functions and capabilities. This includes useful things like summarizing long email threads or analyzing spreadsheet data.
What can Microsoft 365 Copilot do?
One of the most powerful graphics that Microsoft Copilot can do is shown with Copilot being used in Excel.
You can use this AI tool to analyze your data and do things like look for specific trends in data sets, create new charts and graphs based on it and explain how it works and how it arrived at those findings.
Obviously this is a powerful tool for analyzing company data and can be a time saver for many.
Copilot has various functions in several Microsoft365 applications:
- Copilot in Microsoft Outlook – using Copilot in Outlook allows you to be more productive. It will help you to shorten long email chains and also help you to respond. You can also use it to quickly announce important messages or to do simple things like get help with the tone of your messages and voice.
- Copilot in Microsoft Teams – in Teams Copilot can help you connect with your colleagues and organize things. It can assist in creating agendas, developing meeting agendas and re-creating discussion points. It can also help with things like meeting and summarizing people who missed meetings.
- Copilot in Word – for writing Copilot can help with writing and help with rewriting paragraphs, improving the tone of your writing and summarizing words.
- Copilot in PowerPoint – here Copilot can be used to transfer your ideas into decks and can be used to add speaker notes to presentations.
Microsoft 365 Copilot is still in progress the first parts and is currently testing with 600 Microsoft customers. We don’t know when people will be able to get their hands on this, or what it will cost to do so, but we must hear more about it soon.
What is Windows Copilot?
At its Build event in May 2023, Microsoft introduced Windows Copilot. Which is the same, but built vertically Windows 11.
With Windows Copilot, you can open a chat window from your computer and ask Copilot to help you with a task, or find information, like Bing Chat.
The difference here is that it is built directly into the operating system, so it has the ability to control processes and scripts, as well as the ability to open and control programs.
Microsoft’s demo showed Windows Copilot setting the system to black, opening windows and summarizing the business plan document. It can also make music, open it Spotify and start playing.
Much of Microsoft’s Architecture focuses on plugins and how third-party developers can integrate with Windows Copilot, so we expect the AI capabilities to expand as the platform grows. Currently, Microsoft says 50 plugins are available, and thousands more are on the way.
