Apple’s latest iPhone apps are iOS 17 and it was shown in the industrial era International Conference on Software Development in June 2023. The final version of the program is expected to be released later this year, possibly in September, although there is iOS 17 public beta which is available to download now, giving you access to the latest updates.
Some of these features include a Customizable Document, a feature called Check In that we are very happy and NameDrop, among many others. The big question is, will your iPhone be able to run the public beta program or will it be final?
Which iPhones support iOS 17?
Apple will support most iPhones with iOS 17, although several devices are missing support compared to iOS 16, which happens every year. If you have an iPhone released since 2018, you’re good.

You may notice that the iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X are not on the list above and therefore are not compatible with iOS 17. All of these devices were announced together in 2017 so they have had five years of software updates so it may not be too surprising to find themselves at the top this year.

Will you get all the new features of iOS 17?
Sadly no, no. Some items will require an iPhone 12 or newer, while others will require an iPhone 12 Pro model, an iPhone 13 Pro model or iPhone 14 Pro model. You will get more information, however, it will be odd that you will not be able to use it if you have an older device.
When is iOS 17 available?
Apple released the public beta of iOS 17 on July 12. Currently, it is not known when the final version of iOS 17 will be released, but it is likely that sometime in September when the next iPhone models will be announced – it is expected to be. iPhone 15 models and iPhone 15 Pro models. The exact date it will be is unknown at this time, although iOS 16 was released just a week after the iPhone 14 models were announced. The iPhone 15 models have not yet had any rumors about when they will be announced, although we would bet on the first week of September or the second week so we expect to see iOS 17 in the final build in mid-September.
