FIRST ON THE MARK OF THE DAY: Sen. Pete Ricketts, Republican of Nebraska, is calling it President Joe Biden and its government agencies to demonstrate the inclusiveness of Americans living in aviation official flags in the month of October, which is Respect Life Month.
The Nebraska senator sent 20 letters to Biden Administration organizations with this request, was first discovered by The Daily Signal. The White House and institutions are very unlikely to fly flags in honor of unborn children, but since Mr. Biden is the most prominent abortion leader in the history of the United States, the move shows one side of the decision that has been widely criticized by government officials to fly the Pride flag. at federal buildings, including the White House, throughout the month of June.
“Many Americans saw the White House’s Pride celebration earlier this month and the flying of the Pride flag at the White House was a statement that you and your administration only celebrate the American people,” he said.
“I believe that is not the case. By honoring Respect Life Month later this year and flying the flag of right, you can send a strong message that our country celebrates all of America’s beliefs and is committed to protecting innocent and vulnerable life. ”
The Pro-Life Flag Project has created a “unifying banner for the pro-life community” to draw attention to the innocence and vulnerability of the unborn child, Ricketts pointed out in his letter. The flag has two feet to display the personality of the unborn childwith hands above and below the feet to show a mother’s love and protection for her child.
Ricketts, the former governor of Nebraska, reminded Mr. Biden that he did recognized the flag as the “flag of life of Nebraska” during his term as governor.
“Flying the pro-life flag at the White House during Respect Life Month would show that the government stands with its citizens in the indisputable principle that all people, including the unborn, have the right to life,” he emphasized, concluding: “I pray that you will receive wisdom and guidance as you lead our great country.”
In his statement to The Daily Signal, Mr. Ricketts said that many Americans took Biden’s decision to fly the Pride flag at the White House as a sign that the administration only celebrates a certain group of Americans.
“By flying the official flag during Respect Life Month, President Biden will send an important signal that our country respects the dignity of every American, including the unborn,” he added. “I’m committed to making this happen and I’m encouraging my colleagues to get involved as we approach October.”
When the White House flew the Pride flag in June, Tom Fitton of Judicial Watch said the Biden administration did so in violation of US Flag laws.
“In advancing a transgender amendment aimed at children, Mr. Biden violates the basic principles of the US Flag Code and does not respect any American who is classified under his colors,” Fitton said at the time, before citing the number: “US Flag Code §7.”
Media outlets such as Reuters without thinking that the White House’s move did not violate the Flag Act, saying that the act “does not include language that is specific to the administration and is considered voluntary” and that “vexillologists.” [flag experts] offered different opinions on whether the White House display violated the Flag Act. ”
