The Last of Us TV co-producer Craig Mazin he has removed his name for a long time Borderlands movie. According to World of Reel and certified through the Writer’s Guild of America (WGA) website, the writers currently listed on the film are Eli Roth and Joe Crombie – the latter is Mazin’s pen name, meaning he no longer wants to be involved in the project. Mazin’s decision to use a pseudonym comes at a time when he is a highly sought-after author. As in official descriptions from Lionsgate, Borderlands essentially follows Lilith (Blanchett), a notorious criminal returning to her homeland of Pandora in search of the missing daughter of the most powerful SOB Atlas in the universe (Édgar Ramírez). To complete the mission, he pulls together a group of misfits — ex-elite Roland, demon expert Tiny Tina, and blabbermouth robot Claptrap — and battles aliens, gangsters, and madmen, before the mission turns global. – save one.
In other news, Mazin’s partner in The Last of Us series Neil Druckman he is left alone to lead Naughty Dog – Developers of Unrecognizable and ELEPHANT game – like the President, at the end of the year. Co-President Evan Wells has decided to step down after 25 years with the company. “This is something I’ve been discussing with Naughty Dog’s Studio Leadership Team for over a year, and with Neil for even longer than that. This decision brings frustration and conflict, but I’ve come to realize that I’m satisfied with my time at the studio and everything we’ve done together over the past 25 years,” said Wells blog post.
“I cannot count on Neil’s ability to continue to lead the studio. Now is the perfect time to give him and the rest of the Studio Leadership Team the opportunity to lead the studio into the future.
The Borderlands movie currently has no release date.
