Over the years, one of the biggest challenges we’ve had WhatsApp is that you can use it on one phone at a time. Yes, you can use WhatsApp on other devices, such as your Mac or PC using it WhatsApp Web or WhatsApp Desktop, but you couldn’t use it on two phones at the same time. Instead, you have to log out of one phone before you can log into another, which makes you do it save all your chats. It was a lot of effort and to be honest, a lot of pain.
Finally, as of April 2023, that’s not the case and we couldn’t be happier. Instead of being able to connect four non-mobile devices to your WhatsApp account, it is now possible to connect another phone as one of the additional devices, as you can connect WhatsApp on browsers, tablets and desktops.

This is how you can support WhatsApp on multiple devices and make your chats work on two iPhones, and Android and a iPhone device or two Android phones.
How to access WhatsApp on multiple phones
Follow these steps to make WhatsApp work on another phone, besides your main phone so that you can have your WhatsApp chats between two phones.
- Download WhatsApp on your new phone (or the second phone you want to use)
- Accept any other information and permissions that may be required
- On the screen that asks for your number, click the three dots in the upper right corner.
- Click “Connect Tool” to generate a QR code
- Open WhatsApp on your first phone
- Click Settings in the bottom right corner
- Click on Connected Devices
- Click on “Connect Device” and use the camera to scan the QR code on your new device
- That’s right!
Your WhatsApp chats sync across both phones – we’re using it and it works – allowing you to send and receive messages at the same time and reply or forward from either phone.
