Amazon Prime Day is almost upon us, and retailers are already launching their Prime Day Chromebook sales. While there are plenty of other Chromebooks coming on Tuesday, July 11, we’ve already rounded up some Prime Day Chromebook deals from Amazon and other retailers. We also explain because you should buy our opinion.
Based on what we saw on Prime Day last year, most of Amazon’s deals were exclusive to Prime Ministers. You might want to Sign up for Amazon Prime (free) to take advantage of all the Amazon Prime Day Chromebook deals. We will update this page regularly until July 11th and 12th, after Amazon’s Prime Day.

We generally expect Chromebooks to cost between $170 and $250 or more, depending on configuration. Keep in mind that dealers are dumping old Chromebooks for less than $100 – we keep a close eye on these to see if they’re trash or a treasure. We factored in Chromebook support window in our opinion, they tend to last two to five years on a cheap Chromebook. We prioritize the latest, most powerful Chromebook processors, too.
Acer’s Chromebook 516 is one of the few gaming Chromebooks we’ve seen on sale, especially with such a good display. This may be enough to buy everything. The Lenovo Slim 3’s memory is a little on the thin side, but we like Lenovo’s Chromebooks and the price seems good for some features. You can see this HP Chromebook at Best Buy for about half, but we’re getting better: It just feels like a 15.6-inch screen with 768p will strain your eyes unnecessarily.
Things to consider when buying a Chromebook
In general, Chromebooks fall into three categories: ultracheap models around $100, which can offer solid discounts but can hide gotchas like a subpar screen; between $200-$350 Chromebooks, value for money; and high-end Chromebooks at $500 and up. The latter are basically PC laptops with Google Chrome OS on top, and they may be too expensive for your tastes. Our story is inspiring A Chromebook on a laptop It can help you decide, just like we can do ours The best Chromebook products. We have a detailed comparison of laptops versus Chromebookstoo.
Cheaper Chromebooks used to cut corners, like using 768p screens. We try to highlight the best 1080p screens, but smaller Chromebooks can look better with an older screen instead. Unlike a laptop, you don’t have to worry too much about the processor: an Intel Core chip guarantees solid performance, but Celerons are more common. Don’t ditch the Qualcomm Snapdragon or Mediatek Arm chip, either. In fact, Chromebooks with more memory usually perform better. Think about it USB-C dongle to connect to an external display, if it does not come with an HDMI port.
FAQ
How much should I pay for a Chromebook on Prime Day?
Expect to pay between $170 to $250 or so, depending on configuration. You’ll see low-end options under $100, and more expensive models will cost $300 and up.
How can I find out about Prime Day Chromebook deals?
First look at the screen: a large 1080p display is a good starting point. If the system memory is 8GB, it is also a sign of a good Chromebook. Don’t worry too much about the microprocessor, because they like the difference between Intel Pentium and Celeron processors and Arm (Qualcomm and Mediatek) processors. Anything powered by an Intel Core chip or an AMD Ryzen (not A-series) chip should provide solid performance.
Does the Chromebook model matter?
Almost all Chromebooks are made by brand names: HP, Samsung, Asus, etc. If you trust a laptop brand, its Chromebooks should be just as reliable.
What’s the best Chromebook deal on Prime Day at Amazon?
Amazon hopes so. We look at other retailers, as we often find aggressive pricing from Best Buy and Target during Prime Day week. If we get a Chromebook deal from another vendor, we’ll include it.
