Australian footballer Nathan Lyon has revealed a lunch dispute between the players he follows Jonny Bairstow’s clash at Lord’s.
Bairstow was given away when Aussie wicketkeeper Alex Carey dropped his stumps in the second over. Ashes Test, the wicket that proved crucial for Australia to win the match and take a 2-0 lead in the series.
England players and fans reacted negatively to the wicket, saying that Carey’s actions did not reflect the spirit of cricket, although no one disputed that Bairstow did not follow the rules of the game.

Immediately after Bairstow was sacked, he had a heated argument with the Aussie players, according to Lyon.
“Jonny had a few words here and there, but it’s all part of it, I’ve got it,” Lyon told the Willow Talk podcast.
Bairstow was surprised by Carey’s reaction
“There were a few Australian guys and a few English guys in the dining room and I waved my sticks and stood in the middle of it and tried to calm down a bit.”
The same lunchroom at Lord’s is shared by both teams, making for some very tense moments in a very tough game.

“What was in the room was amazing,” Lyon said.
The conflict begins before lunch break
“Everybody was proud but they thought it was funny because you walk in that Long Room and you’re more likely to be prosecuted than beaten. Are you here?’.
“It was funny in every way.”
While England’s players and fans are still angry about Bairstow’s defeat, Australia have maintained that it was a legitimate goal and no one has apologized or complained.
Talking to Nine TodayAussie batsman Travis Head refused to be persuaded if he could secure a similar wicket.
Head revealed that he drew Bairstow’s wrath afterwards publicly stating that the England keeper would do the same as Carey. Bairstow had earlier tried to bowl the opponents’ stumps, but failed to find a wicket.
“I’ll leave it to Kez (Carey),” Head laughed.
“I think he said the other day (that) he was going to (do it again).
“We don’t know if Jonny can do it any other way. I said he could, and he wasn’t happy when I said that the other week.”
The fourth Ashes match begins in Manchester on Wednesday.
