Another week of crime has surrounded Chicago. Recent victims, among many, include an off-duty police officer and construction worker robbed at gunpoint in the Logan Square neighborhood.

How are socialist policies going in Chi-town?

CWB Chicago says:

In River North, an off-duty police officer was with a friend, leaving a nightclub in the 200 block of West Ontario, when three armed men confronted them around 2 a.m. Saturday, according to a law enforcement source. The robbers took the victim’s belongings, then fled the scene in a Nissan Altima.

Perhaps coincidentally, a group of construction workers were robbed in the 1700 block of North Washtenaw around 2:40 pm on Friday. Surveillance video shared by CWBChicago showed three masked gunmen robbing a group of workers on the side of the road. The perpetrators, at least one armed with a gun, went through the workers’ pockets, taking phones, credit cards, and other items. They fled in a small black car.

No arrests have been made in either case.

CWB Chicago shared an email from Alderman Daniel La Spata (first) to his constituents after two armed men robbed Tip Top Liquor, also in Logan Square, Friday night:

I am saddened to share that one of the employees of Bucktown Food & Liquor was shot yesterday evening during a robbery. As a regular customer, I went this afternoon to express my condolences to the manager, who shared that the employee who was shot is recovering and that he is in good contact with local investigators. My team is committed to their employees and local investigators and I hope the perpetrators are brought to justice. As always, I will continue to work with our 14th Precinct police on any changes that may occur and the support that my team and I can provide.

On Sunday morning, someone opened fire on police in Chicago’s Logan Square, CPD said.
