Tottenham Hotspur coach Ange Postecoglou 60 Minutes interview


Ange Postecoglou’s incredible rise has seen him go from South Melbourne to Glasgow Celtic, taking the Socceroos to two World Cups along the way.

But he manages Premier League giants Tottenham Hotspur That is Postecoglou’s biggest problem yet.

Spurs are one of the biggest – and richest – clubs in the world, but they haven’t won a trophy in 15 years.

Up for grabs is the future of England goalscorer Harry Kane, with Europe’s biggest clubs considering a $100m-plus bid.

Ange’s brave message to Spurs

“A guy from the suburbs of Melbourne growing up in Prahran, he ends up as a Premier League manager, that’s the stuff of Hollywood,” the 57-year-old told 60 Minutes.

“Me being here right now is the greatest miracle you will ever experience.”

Postecoglou has taken silverware in charge of Brisbane Roar, an Asia Cup win with Australia, a J League title with Yokohama Marinos in Japan and five trophies in two seasons with Celtic.

Ange to Spurs ‘good’

“I left every club I left after doing well,” he said.

Along the way, Postecoglou built a reputation as a straight-talking, charismatic and charismatic person. But even if it’s easy at times, he’s willing to make tough decisions to win.

“I can’t promise it’s going to be smooth, I can’t promise there won’t be a few bumps in the road,” he added.
