When was Special Ops: Lioness released and what is it about?

Special Ops: Lioness started on July 23, 2023, at Winner + much to the delight of fans around the world. The description of the series reads, “Special Ops: Lion, inspired by the US military program, follows Joe’s life as he tries to balance his personal and professional life while at the tip of the CIA’s counter-terrorism mission.” It continues, “The Lioness Program enlists a Marine Raider to work undercover alongside Joe among the government’s top terrorists in an attempt to thwart the next 9/11.”

Zoe Saldaña was cast in Special Ops: Lioness in February 2022, and she joined Nicole Kidman as the executive producer of the series. Filming of the show began in Mallorca in January 2023. Originally called Lioness, the series was announced to have changed its title to Special Ops: Lioness in May 2023. The first two episodes are available on Paramount Plus.
