It was he announced that NBCUniversal Peacock signed a multi-year deal to produce Lionsgate films. And, yes, the deal includes The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes for release. The Hunger Games prequel: The Story
The book The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes was released in 2020.
The story is about Coriolanus Snow, the president of Panem during the original trilogy, as a young man. It’s about Lucy Gray Baird, a mysterious girl from District 12, whom Snow mentors through The Hunger Games 10. Remember Katniss Everdeen – the focus of the original trilogy set 60 years later – comes from District 12 and challenges Snow and his authority.

On 27 April 2023, Lionsgate finally released the official trailer for the movie. It’s safe to say that it looks incredible, impressive and has all the right details of a Hunger Games movie with some interesting choices.
Lionsgate says they showed a small teaser trailer during their presentation at CinemaCon 2022. “You are invited to return to the Games”, reads the screen as the ice melts in winter, revealing birds and snakes. “In 2023, the world will know who is the songbird, and who is the snake.”
