Pakistan: Imran Khan’s bail extended in three cases

ISLAMABAD: The Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday extended the interim bail of former Prime Minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan in three cases, ARY News reported.
The court granted bail to Khan in three cases registered at Kahna and Bhara Kahu police stations.
The court extending the interim bail to the former prime minister ordered the police to carry out a thorough investigation, and ordered that no delay in any way be allowed.
“We are not supporting the accused or the prosecution, but the inquiry should be conducted transparently,” ARY news quoted the judge as saying.
Earlier, an anti-terrorist court (ATC) in Lahore issued arrest warrants to the PTI chairman and other party leaders in two arson cases.
ATC judge Abher Gul Khan issued arrest warrants to the PTI chief and other party leaders including. Mian Islam IqbalHammad Azhar, Jamshed Iqbal CheemaMusarrat Jamshed Cheema and Hassan Ullah Niazi.
Arrest warrants were issued for their continued absence in two arson cases – 23/366 (Model Town police) and 23/1078 (Naseerabad police), ARY news reported.
It is pertinent to mention here that the PTI chief has been facing more than 100 cases in various cases in the country.
Earlier on July 6, Khan accused his political opponents of “trying to kill him”, adding that he would stay in Pakistan and fight all court cases even as well-wishers abroad urged him to leave the country.
On July 3, Imran Khan criticized Shehbaz Sharif government, and said that the authorities “made a plan” to detain him and that all the events that took place in his arrest were “premeditated”.
Addressing the nation, former Prime Minister Imran Khan said, “I want the world to know how he was made to arrest me on false and baseless charges. A lawyer is killed in Quetta and without investigation and evidence, Shahbaz Sharif’s. adviser comes on TV that day and says he was killed it was done by Imran Khan and later the same lawyer’s widow’s video shows who did it”.
On May 9, former PTI Prime Minister Imran Khan was arrested from the Islamabad High Court by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on corruption charges related to the Al-Qadir Trust, which he co-owns with his wife, Bushra Bibi. .
Following Khan’s arrest, his party called for protests which started taking place in many places. The government was brutal and many people were arrested throughout the country. Those accused of the May 9 violence are being tried in military courts.
