MALMÖ, SWEDEN: A Swedish court on Monday sentenced a climate activist Greta Thunberg for disobeying the orders of the police at a meeting last month in the city of Malmo, and fined him, an AFP photographer at the scene heard.
Thunberg admitted in the Malmo district court that she did not obey the police’s orders to evacuate, but she denied the accusation of the demand made by “weather problem.” But the judge said he was still guilty and fined him 1,500 kronor ($144) plus an additional 1,000 kronor to Sweden’s crime victims’ fund.
