Review it – I have been looking at different companies and their TV monitor products for quite some time. I have an 85″ TV in my media center in my basement and I have always felt that turning the TV back on brings out the best. Over the past few years, I’ve reviewed a number of lighting fixtures from Govee that I loved and still use, so I was very excited to get the chance to test and review the Govee T2 TV lighting on my 85″ TV.
What is it?
Govee T2 TV Backlight is a TV stand lamp with features dual cameras, Smart App Control, Music Sync, and 16.4ft RGBIC Wi-Fi TV LED Lighting for 75-85 inch TVs. It also adapts to thinner TVs.

Design and appearance
The Govee T2 TV Backlight consists of a light strip, a control panel, and an input camera device that has two built-in cameras. There are two USB-C ports on the control box and one on the back of the camera unit.
Installation
Installing the Govee T2 TV Backlight simply involves removing the adhesive tape and sticking the 4 light strips to the back of the TV. Once the light strips are in place, there are extras with sticky tape that are added to each side to hold them in place. Then you connect the USB-C cable from the light lines to the Control Box and to the input device and the camera that sits in the center of the TV. There are also stickers provided to keep this safe. Also, the camera unit that hangs from the TV has a heavy end to store it. It is important to note that this method of installation can be difficult if the TV is very large and already the wall is mounted on a mount that does not allow to move and drive too much.
Sit down
Once the hardware was installed, the next step was to download and install the Govcee app on my smartphone. Since I have other products from Govee, I just need to add Govee T2 TV Backlight. Here are some highlights of the program:
Procedure
When the Govee T2TV Backlight is all set up and ready to go, I found that the App is the best way to manage the process since all the functions and settings are available through the app. There are control buttons on the Control Box, but using them is not practical because they are placed on the back of the TV.
IMHO, using voice control is appropriate for limited situations. Here’s a video of Backlight in action:
