All Blacks vs Wallabies exclusive analysis, Quade Cooper, Will Jordan


All Blacks all-rounder Jeff Wilson has heaped more praise on his side not believing that Quade Cooper is the right person to captain the Wallabies in the Bledisloe Cup and Rugby World Cup.

Cooper, 35, has refused to compete with young tyro Carter Gordon to wear Australia’s No.10 jersey for the opening two Tests of the Rugby Championship.

Wallabies coach Eddie Jones has preached patience with both Cooper, who recently returned from a ruptured Achilles tendon, and Gordon, during the offseason.

It didn’t wash with Wilson, who also went hard for Cooper’s appointment on The Breakdown, available to stream here on Stan Sport.

“I still don’t understand why Quade Cooper is running the team because he’s not doing well and we know he’s not doing well with the All Blacks,” Wilson said.

“How can he wear 10 jerseys in two weeks, seriously?”

The All Blacks, 2-0 in the Rugby Championship, will take on the winless Wallabies in the Bledisloe opener at the MCG on July 29.
