Samsung is said to be looking for a new health team, which will not need to compete with Apple. According to a book from Korea The ElecSamsung is working on a smart ring that is not different from the popular Oura Oura ring.

The contract to manufacture the test has been awarded to a Japanese company called Meiko. Dubbed the “Galaxy Ring,” the project is still in its early stages.

Samsung will only take on the smart ring manufacturing project if the color units meet the high standards. That’s a big “if” because getting energy efficiency, sensor flexibility, and product longevity into a small piece of ring-shaped hardware is very difficult.

Right now, Oura, McLear, Hecere, and Movano offer the best smart rings — but those brands don’t command the same kind of consumer traction or market share as the likes of Samsung. Also, smart ring market is expected to reach $ 747.41 million at a growth rate of 25% per year from 2023 onwards, it is ripe.

But dreaming of dominating the market and leading it for a long time is easier said than done. Fortunately, Samsung has all the talent in the world – and money in its pockets – to pull it off. The best example of Samsung’s technology would be the Galaxy Z series of foldable phones.

However, Samsung is good at destroying early leads. The competition has quickly caught up with Samsung in the foldable phone segment, and it is also offering better products. But it’s the clothing section where the defeat bites.

Samsung released its first smartwatch in 2013, two years ahead of Apple. But it’s Apple that rules the lion’s share of the global smartwatch market, with Samsung far behind. While some of that can be blamed on the operating system’s problems, it was the innovation and UI improvements that gave Apple such quick success.

Samsung may want to replace its wearable tech muscle with a new category – the smart ring – and make money doing so.

A whole world of promises

The smart ring industry is not as mature as the smartwatch segment, in terms of innovation and consumer acceptance. One might think twice before dropping $299 on the Oura Ring 3, but if the same device was made by Samsung, the controversy would be less due to the brand’s popularity and reliability.

But there is more to the picture. Smart rings can do all the smart things that a smartwatch can do, such as activity tracking, calorie counting, heart rate monitoring, sleep analysis, phone charging, music playback control, and more.

They are comfortable and smart to wear. I have a hard time wearing a smartwatch that’s too big to track my sleep, but it’s easy to wear just the same. UltraHuman wisdom ring. Also, they are not as confusing as a smartwatchespecially with the amount of information on the smartwatch screen.

Research in the smartwatch segment also has positive results. Scientific research published in Sleep magazinewhich tested the Oura ring, said that these wearables “can be used to make models of when people sleep when they wake up as if they were sleeping.”

Additional research published in International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health found that with some modifications, a device like the Oura smart ring could also assist certified medical personnel in providing critical care such as CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) to help people in emergencies.

Also research Regarding the analysis of sweat lactate it shows that it can be an important indicator in the evaluation of the performance of sports. Again, smart rings can give you a better option. It will be interesting to see if Samsung can use its resources and years of research to make the Galaxy Ring worth buying, assuming it becomes a real product after testing.
