Batman: The Long Halloween Part 1 and 2 (2021)
Fans of The Dark Knight and Biography of Matt Reeves The Batman they should enjoy these two parts of the journey. To change the story of the same name, The Long Halloween shows the World’s Greatest Detective teaming up with Catwoman and Harvey Dent to stop an assassin named “Holiday” from killing members of the Falcone crime family, culminating in Harvey’s transformation into “Two-Face”.
Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox (2013)
For those disappointed by Andy Muschietti’s The Flash, the film presents a faithful adaptation of the “Flashpoint” comics. After going back in time to prevent her mother’s murder, the Scarlet Speedster ends up in an alternate timeline where Thomas Wayne and Batman, Martha Wayne and the Joker, and Wonder Woman and Aquaman have started a third world war.
The Flashpoint Paradox makes full use of the source material to present a dark, time-traveling story that forces the Flash to face all the challenges of disrupting his future, along with his archenemy, Professor Zoom.
Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker
Set in the Neo-Gotham of the future, Bruce Wayne’s current bodyguard, Terry McGinnis, faces off against the Dark Knight’s arch-enemy after he mysteriously returns from the dead.
This Annie Award winning film is a dark piece DC’s Animated Universe, shows how the Joker hacked Tim Drake’s brain to fight Batman, leaving deep scars on the minds of the Dark Knight and his young ward. However, audiences should watch the uncut version of the film if they want to feel the power of this horror flick.
The Death of Superman (2018)
In his ongoing battle against the Justice League, Darkseid sends his new weapon, Doomsday, to destroy the world, pitting him against Superman.
When Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice it can disrupt Doomsday into its third phase, Death of Superman focuses on the Man of Steel, his challenges, and his epic battle with this alien monster, providing a faithful and direct take on the classic comic book.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and 2 (2012 and 2013)
Ten years after retiring as Batman, middle-aged Bruce Wayne returns to crime-ridden Gotham, leading to a war against Two-Face, and the Joker, and even Superman. Every shot of the film looks like it was taken from the sets of Frank Miller’s classic comics.
And while it remains true to the things it loves, The Dark Lord is back spans two films to show Batman’s aging battle against Gotham’s criminals and a struggling government scorned by his actions.
