Samsung sees ₹14,000 crore festive mobile sales


NEW DELHI: The festive season and the launch of 5G services in the country proved to be a bonanza for Samsung India as the company registered sales of Rs 14,400 crore in September and October, its highest-ever for the period. Aditya Babbarhead of product & marketing at Samsung Mobilesaid the company saw a strong traction across price points, and demand has been particularly healthy for premium devices and 5G phones.
The growth for the brand comes at a time when semiconductor supplies have eased up across the consumer industries, and production levels have normalised. Also, the regulatory and tax action against Chinese brands such as Xiaomi, Oppoand Vivo have restricted the ability of the companies to engage in heavy marketing spends and discounting.
