Petrol, Diesel Rate Today: Crude oil prices rose by Rs 98 to Rs 7,439 per barrel in futures trade yesterday as participants widened their positions following firm spot demand. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for November delivery traded higher by Rs 98 or 1.33 per cent at Rs 7,439 per barrel in 6,117 lots. Analysts said raising of bets by participants kept crude oil prices higher in futures trade. Globally, West Texas Intermediate crude oil was up 2.17 per cent at USD 90.08 per barrel, and Brent crude traded 1.96 per cent higher at USD 96.53 per barrel in New York.

Despite the increasing crude oil prices in the global markets, petrol and diesel prices have remained largely stable in India. The gasoline and diesel prices are revised every midnight in India depending on the global situation. Petrol costs Rs 96.72 per liter while Diesel costs Rs 89.62 per liter in the national capital Delhi.
