How to make momos in Appam pan

To begin with, take a sieve and strain 1 cup atta and 1 cup maida along with a dash of salt.

Add water gradually and knead a soft dough, test it by inserting a finger and knead it again. The dough should be proper, not too soft or too stiff.

Next, dust some flour and extract dough balls, flatten them using a rolling pin. Make sure that the layer for momos is not too thick.

In the meantime, prepare a stuffing with grated mozzarella cheese, carrot, corn and cabbage. Take a chopper, wash and chop the cabbage, carrot and corn. Toss the vegetable mixture with salt, pepper and cheese.

Place the stuffing in the center of momos wrap, fold it in your desired shape by sealing the top. Repeat the process with the rest of the momos.

In the meantime, heat an appam pan over low flame, grease it with some oil and wipe it off followed by sprinkling some water and again wipe off. Place the momos and cover with the lid. Allow it to cook for 15-20 minutes in steam.

You can also fry the momos once they are done, keep them in a refrigerator. Next, in a skillet, add oil / butter, slide the momos and fry them nice and crisp to enjoy homemade spicy chutney or dip.
